Question:  We are required to file the immunization status of our students with the Department of Public Health.  I know how to tell which students are compliant overall, but is there a way to get compliance numbers immunization by immunization?  (i.e, how many have had three Hep B shots)

Answer:
If you have not already done so, it is important for you to think about investing in a system for your health center that can automatically retrieve this kind of information for you. I recommend looking for an application that addresses immunizations on a comprehensive scale. For instance, the Nuesoft Xpress system identifies the immunization status of every student on campus, allows for customized compliance requirements based on school and state regulations, automatically generates letters to students who are non-compliant or require a reminder, and identifies groups of students that require specific immunizations.

In addition, when it comes to submitting the compliance status of your student population to your state’s public health department, the Nuesoft Xpress system has the capability to generate an immunization deficiency report.

This report can be filtered by:
  • One or more immunization codes
  • Whether the student is active/inactive
  • Whether or not the student is international
  • Campus location
  • Class standing
  • University department
