Hot Tip from Nuesoft Xpress

Try this tried and true short cut to help get the most out of your Xpress system.

If you do not have an EMR but would like to include a note within a patient’s record, take advantage of the free text Notes area of your Nuesoft Xpress application.  Notes can be used to record information about a patient’s condition and payment status history, or track patient correspondence.  Notes are permissions-based so that you meet all HIPAA requirements.

Here’s how it works:

1.   In Patient Information, select the appropriate patient.
2.   Click Notes in the main toolbar; you are redirected to the Notes screen.
3.   Click New in the task bar located at the bottom of the screen; the Note window appears.
4.   Enter a subject for the note.
5.   Enter the Date of Service in mm/dd/yyyy format.
6.   Mark the Alert checkbox if the note contains significant information your staff should know.  If marked, the note displays in the Appointment, Patient and Ticket modules after selecting the patient.
7.   Enter the note’s content.  You can enter up to 1,024 characters.  If you previously created content in a separate file, such as a Word document, simply copy and paste it into the note.  To copy text from a separate file, highlight the appropriate text, and then depress the Ctrl key along with the letter “C” on your keyboard.  To paste the copied text into your Note, put your cursor within the Note box, and then depress the Ctrl key along with the letter “V” on your keyboard.
8.   Click OK when complete.

Note:  You can also use voice dictation software or a tablet PC to add a note to a patient record.
