Nuesoft Staff - Meet Sharon McKnight
This time it’s the turn of Sharon McKnight, manager of the support team, who has the best shoe collection at Nuesoft, loves Oprah and remembers everyone’s birthday.
Q: Tell us about your role at Nuesoft.
Well, I'm manager of the support team, which means that I deal with any escalated support issues, work closely with the (EDI) department, make sure the team’s on top of everything and go to a lot of meetings!
Q: And you’re also the person who sends round cards for everyone to sign when it’s a colleague’s birthday.
Yes, I initially started it because I believe that birthdays are special. I keep it going because people are very excited when they receive acknowledgement on their special day, and it’s a great morale booster.
Q: How long have you been working in health care?
My whole career has been in health care - around 24 years. I started off working at a doctor's office and then had several positions at software companies working in support and training.
Q: What’s the best thing about working in client support?
I have a great team. They're really on point.
Q: What’s your favorite TV show?
I am a huge Oprah fan. I also like Biggest Loser a lot. It inspired me to start a Biggest Loser competition at Nuesoft!
Q: What do you do when you’re not at work?
I enjoy working out when it's not so cold outside. I hang out with friends a lot, just have people over. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to cook more at home! I also like shopping – I have a weakness for shoes and jeans – I can’t pass them up!
Q: What’s your pet hate?
Oh, I can't stand women trying to put make-up on while they’re driving.
Q: What’s new in Support?
There’s going to be a new support site called Nuetopia launched around the same time as the next release. It’s going to have product manuals, news about releases and support issues and it will be a fully searchable resource. I’m very excited about it.
Q: What top support tip can you give to Xpress users for the upcoming release in February?
Passwords are now going to be case sensitive, so if you have trouble logging in, be sure that you are using the right case!
Q: Any other tips for our users?
